90 years child protection and family reunification worldwide
Our international organisation has many branches, affiliated bureaus and correspondents and is specifically designed for intercountry social work.
We offer services to individuals and organisations that are dealing with social or socio-legal issues resulting from (re)migration. Our help is available to anyone, irrespective of nationality, race, religion or political conviction, and we will not take sides when our mediation or services have been requested.
In the Netherlands we are part of Fiom, established in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
Who may call in ISS?
Professional services and social work organisations such as Fiom, the Child Care and Protection Board, youth protection agencies, refugee aid centres and others may call in the assistance of ISS for the benefit of their clients.
Lawyers and other legal counsels as well as courts of justice may appeal to us to help people who are involved in cross-border judicial problems.
ISS Netherlands can not accept requests from private persons.
How can you get our assistance?
In order to call in our help you should contact the ISS branch in your country of residence. A list of branches can be found at http://www.iss-ssi.org or you may contact us to get information. Inquiries can be made by telephone.
Requests for services or mediation have to be submitted in writing by a professional service agency. Since ISS does not have a branch or correspondent in each and every country, you are advised to consult us by telephone and in advance about the nature and contents of the request you wish to make in order to avoid being disappointed.
The time needed to process a request will strongly depend on the nature of the request, the available data being exhaustive or incomplete and the local conditions abroad.
For our activities as an intermediary we ask a financial contribution that depends on the nature and scope of the request as well as the country involved.
